usual Rajasthani handicrafts are available here, but Jodhpur is famous
for antiques. The greatest concentration of showrooms is along the road
connecting the Ajit Bhawan Hotel with the Umaid Bhawan Palace. These
shops are well known to western antique dealers, who come here with
wallets stuffed with plastic cards .As a results, you'll be hard pressed
to find any bargains. And keep in mind that the trade in antique
architectural fixtures is contributing to the desecration of India's
cultural heritage. Most places can make you a piece of antique-style
furniture and prices aren't bad. Make sure you find out how much extra
you'll end up paying for customs charges in your home country.
